Bye Hokkaido, it’s time to leave for another place. We checked out of Aspen Hotel and head to New Chitose Airport by train. It was 2 hours before boarding the plane. We had breakfast at the airport but I can’t remember the name of the cafe. Well, it wasn’t good so doesn’t matter.
After breakfast, we went to “explore” New Chitose Airport since there’s plenty of time left before boarding. We discovered Glico Caramel Biscuit concept store which is only available in Hakkaido. Got a box to try and it’s pretty good. It can only last outside for 2 hours so there’s no way to bring it back to Singapore. Anyway, do try it when you are in Hokkaido New Chitose Airport.
Upon arrival at Osaka Kansai Airport, we took a Limousine Bus from bus stop 5 located outside the airport to Hilton Osaka Hotel. It took about 1 hour 12 mins to reach Hilton Osaka from Kansai Airport. The ticket of the Limousine can be purchased through a ticket machine located new bus stop 5. It’s pretty obvious, so don’t have to worry that you can’t find.
We had finally reached Hilton Osaka Hotel. Glamorous hotel with service staff well versed in English. Not only the lobby is nice, their rooms are well maintained. I love my hotel room and I got a good view from the room. Recommended for stay if you don’t mind spending on accommodations.
We had ourselves settled down in our hotel room and head out to Dontobori. To get to Dontobori, we walked from Hilton Osaka to Nishi-Umeda station and took a train (Yotsubashi Line) towards Suminoekoen. Alight at Namba station and you will have to walk about 8 minutes before reaching Dontobori. Directions to walk there, you might want to navigate using google map. While finding our way to Dontobori, we settled down in a Tonkatsu store (Tonharu) that we happened to pass by for lunch. We went in to realise only 2 tables were occupied. I thought it’s gonna be bad but it turned out pretty good.
There we were at Dontobori, open air shopping distinct for youngster. Over there, you will find lots of interesting stuff. For ladies, you will love to shop there. I like shopping but I couldn’t endure the hot weather. Oh yes, when you are in Dontobori, remember to take photo with the huge crab and Glico running man, icons of Dontobori. If you didn’t, it’s equivalent to you haven’t been there before. Haha.
There’s a Glico speciality store located somewhere near the Glico running man. It’s meant for exclusive items. Though it’s a Glico store, you will also find products that are not under Glico.
We love shopping but the weather killed our shopping mood. Anyway, we did shop for a while before heading back to our hotel.
At about 6pm, we meet a friend who stays in Japan for dinner. He and his family brought us to this teppanyaki restaurant located near Hilton Osaka. It’s called Syouei 焼栄. I don’t think this restaurant is known to tourist because it’s not prominent. The food is good especially the beef and it doesn’t cost a bomb. Check this restaurant out. Thank you for bringing us there!
On our way back to hotel, we passed by some beer feast events going on opposite our hotel so decided to go for a pine. I thought it’s gonna be packed but it turned out to be quite empty. Anyway, it’s a good place to chill and end our night.
