Woke up in the morning with a fabulous view. How often do you wake up with such view? Not very. Hence, I appreciated the moment breathing in the freshest air. Yes, I was wearing a shorts out and it was quite cold in the morning.
Morning breakfast was provided. It was served at their dining area. Let the staff know your room number, get seated and breakfast will be serve shortly. Everyone get the same breakfast set so you don’t get a choice to choose. Their breakfast looked really simple but it was good especially the bread.
We had a bus to catch at 12:50 going towards Taipei. We checked out at 10:30 to catch the shuttle service provided by the owner to the waiting area where the Starbucks is located. There’s plenty of time left before heading to Taipei. We left our baggage at the tourist corner before heading out for a walk. Actually, there’s limited things to do around the area. There’s a cardboard museum (Cing Jing Xiao Rui Shi) located right opposite the Starbucks area. It’s not really a museum. Rather, a store that sells everything that made up of cardboards. Quite interesting.
Other than the museum, we went around the area taking photos. I love taking photos especially with beautiful background.
An hour before 12:50, we decided have an early lunch before going on a long journey. Not much choices we had, only Starbucks and Mos Burger. We chose Mos Burger. Yes, it tasted like Mos Burger 😀
Off we went for the 4.5 hours journey to Taipei by OK bus. It’s longer to go by bus comparing it to train but it’s more convenient. I was so tired that I slept throughout the journey. Half way through the journey, the driver stopped us at some resting point for toilet break. Over there, a number of stores sell Taiwan Snacks and we saw quite a lot of people buying. No commends on the taste because I didn’t grab any. Only bought a Taiwan Sausage, Not too bad. They do sell frozen Taiwan Sausage for tourist to bring back.
We arrived in Taipei (Train Station) at around 18:00. The hotel my fiance booked was near the Taipei train station. We navigated our way to the i Taipei Service Apartment using Google map. The service apartment is well maintained. They have a small kitchen and a washing machine. Recommended accommodation for it’s convenience, cleanliness and good service.
We took a rest before heading out to Xi Men Ding. Xi Men Ding, a place for food and shopping. Ladies, shoes are really cheap there but it’s not durable. Well, it’s cheap so durable or not isn’t a factor. I didn’t really shop for clothes because stores were mostly selling winter wear which can’t be wore in Singapore.
Beside shopping, our main agenda was to eat the legendary Lu Rou Fan that my fiance describe as the best Lu Rou Fan. I got to try if it’s really that good. Indeed, it was good but the dining area was really cramp. Tables are shared among many. You are expected to eat and leave. Do look out for Tian Tian Li store when you are in Xi Men Ding!
The rest of our time was spent eating street food and shopping. Hoping to find some clothes that can be worn in Singapore. That’s about it for day 4.
