Time flies during travel. It’s our last day in Phuket. We decided to try something different. Guess what? Cooking class!!! Pat’s Cooking Class has a pretty good reviews online. So, we decided to give it a try. We paid 1750 BAHT to attend the class which covered 3 main courses and 1 dessert. We got to choose the dishes that we are interested in. The followings were what we chose:
1. Tom Yum Goong
2. Pad Thai
3. Basil Chicken
4. Green Curry
5. Mango Sticky Rice
Transportation was included for this cooking lesson. We started off by heading to the market and Pat (The host) explained about the different vegetables (what the locals use it for). After all the explanation, we were free to walk around and snap some photos while she did the real marketing. We took about 10 minutes. The market place was pretty small.
Back to Pat’s house after marketing. She went in to prepare ingredients while we sat around, enjoying the drinks served to us.
It’s time to start cooking. By one look, she knew that we don’t cook because of the way we cut our ingredients. Well, we really don’t cook. Not gonna deny that. She explained the use of each ingredient in the dish before we begin cutting it into smaller pieces. Step by step, she taught us what to do next. Actually Thai dishes ain’t that difficult to prepare. Just got to get the ingredient right. It might be a bit too early to say because we had someone to help. Shall try it one day at home (:
2 hours later, we were ready to have the meal prepared by ourselves! the portion was really big and there’s no way we could finish all 4 dishes. Check out our Thai dishes.
Tom Yum Goong (Tasted blend)
Mango Sticky Rice (Good)
Green Curry (Good)
Pad Thai (Good)
Basil Chicken (Good)
Satisfied with our food. Such a waste that we couldn’t bring the remaining back.
After lunch, it’s movie time because we still had plenty of time left before leaving airport. Patong Area has a cinema and that’s where we watched our movie (Sabotage). Before movie started, we went to Big C supermarket to shop for local snacks and we ended up buying lots of chips. People shop for souvenirs, we shop for tidbits.
It’s about time we head back to our resort to pack our stuff. We got our “dinner” before heading back to our resort. Auntie Anne’s Cheese Sausage Bite Size for dinner. Never miss this when you are in Thailand because it’s so good and it’s not available in Singapore. WHY???
That’s it for our Phuket trip. It’s a good trip though it’s short. Goodbye (:
