6 hours journey on a comfortable bus was good. Not only comfortable, they provided us with biscuit, water and blanket. Why didn’t they have this kind of bus from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai?!?!?! Anyway, that’s not the point. We reached Bangkok Bus Terminal at 0530. The bus terminal was extremely crowded. We got down the bus and looked out for the taxi stand. While navigating our way towards the taxi stand, there’s a lot of taxi uncles trying to con tourists. We didn’t bother about them until we saw the long queue at the taxi stand. And so we asked how much do they charged to get to Baiyoke Sky Hotel (Budacco is located next to it), and they said 400 BAHT!! Oh! Thanks! Bye! Anything above 150 BAHT is unacceptable. We went to queue up at the taxi stand. While queuing up, someone approached us and asked “where are you going”. We replied, “Pratunum”. Actually we weren’t sure if that’s the correct place. The address was so long and we didn’t know which was the street name that we should tell the taxi uncle. But we were lucky enough to have met this young Thai lady who knows how to speak English. We showed her the hotel address and she told us it’s “Rajchaprarop Phayathai” instead of “Pratunum”. So thankful to her. If not, we would probably end up in some other places. Okay, we got the address right but that’s not the end. The most challenging part was to get a Taxi. THEY DON’T HAVE A QUEUING SYSTEM! You don’t get the taxi first even if you come first. The taxi uncle stops whenever he likes. If not, whoever opens the door first wins. Oh well, just got to be daring enough. We waited in the queue for 1 hour and my cute little friend suggested that we queue in different area. AND SO, we finally got a cab. By the time we got a cab, the sun was already out.
The journey from the bus terminal to Budacco Hotel was about 20 minutes. When we reached our hotel, it’s still too early to check in. We checked in our baggages and went for Mac breakfast near our hotel. Don’t expect the Mac breakfast to be different from Singapore, it tastes the same. After breakfast, we headed to my friend’s friend’s hotel to rest. Initially, we planned to rest a while in their hotel but we ended up watching video. At about 2PM, we left their hotel and went to Pratunum market. Pratunum market opens only in the day and closes at night. The best time to go is in the early afternoon where all the stores are already open. That’s where the shopping started. Half way through, we decided to slowly walk back to our hotel to check in. On the way back, we bought some food and drinks.

Budacco has different color for their rooms and we got a purple room. I love the room. It was clean and cozy. Furthermore, their bed was very comfortable. For that price (SGD 69), I think it’s considered very good. Oh yes, and their staffs were very friendly too!
Washed up ourselves and rested for a while before heading to Siam Paragon to meet my friend. We walked to Siam Paragon from our hotel. It’s not near but it’s a walkable distance. We reached there early so we to go shop for Triumph bra in their departmental store. We were just like other Singaporeans. Come BKK to buy bra because they are so much cheaper than those selling in Singapore. We bought 250 bucks worth of bra.
Ok, it’s time to meet my friend. So happy to see her and her boyfriend because it’s been awhile since we met. They brought us to the restaurant (Black theme) next to Coffee Bean by Dao located at the basement and it’s pretty good. It’s a Thai seafood restaurant. Thank you Sweetie for treating us such good food!

The eating didn’t stop here. We met Steph after our dinner and we headed down to China Town for more food. We had pork “Kway Chup”. After Kway Chup, we went down the street for dessert. We ordered bird nest with egg dessert. It’s not bad but do look out for fake bird nest which I don’t know how to differentiate. I think it’s one of the dish that you must try in Thailand. The dessert stall was right beside a durian stall and I was so tempted by the durian. Wanted to try but it was way too expensive. It’s 3 pieces for 8 SGD so we dropped the idea of trying. Why is durian so expensive?!?!?

Done with eating!!! Actually, Chinatown is all about eating. There’s no other things to buy other than food. Heard from Steph, they have nice seafood located at the beginning of the street. There’s always long queue. Do try out if you have to time! We headed back to our hotel by cab after walking the whole street. Always remember to ask if they are willing to on meter before getting onto the cab. If they don’t, just wait for other taxi.
Feeling very tired. Washed up and hopped onto the bed!
